Tribe News #1 - 10/24/2012 Fletcher, D Hall, Garcon

London Fletcher's Streak is in Jeopardy!
Looks like the heart and soul of our defense is having some balance issues.  He has plans to meet with a neurologist.  So, with his hammy ailing and who knows what is up with this balance issue, it looks like Fletcher's consecutive game streak (of 231) may have to come to an end this weekend.  The fan in me wants them to roll him out on the field for the first snap...but these guys are gladiators.  Rich Tandler, of CSN Washington and great Redskins blog www.realredskins.com , reminded me of how much these guys respect the game.  When asked if he thought Fletcher would get the first snap to keep the streak going, he replied, "No athlete would want to continue a streak with a token appearance like that."  I think Rich is right because there is no place on an NFL field for warm and fuzzy.  Let's hope for the best...I honestly feel like he could be just fine and on the field...but if he is not ready to go, I suppose Alexander would get the nod....with Robinson most likely getting some snaps too.  All good things must come to an end...I will be happy to just have him back soon, regardless of any streaks.

D. Hall and Talking Smack!
Giants:  "WAH WAH"
I love D. Hall sometimes.  This is one of those times.  "...we gave them that play" he said, referring to the deep pass to Cruz that led to the win for the Giants.  D. Hall, you are so damn right!  He continued to mention how poorly we played that snap...believe me, if there were huge problems, Eli would have lit up the sky like the 4th of July.  The Giants did not have a great game in the air, though they did have that big play, leading to the win.  In a league where only winning seems to matter, most fans were still very happy with our teams play.  I agree...we outplayed those streaky Giants for 90% of that game...and that tells me, though we still have a lot of work ahead of us, we are on the way up in the NFC East.  Hall just called it like it was....sometimes the truth hurts.  No apologies.

Garcon...IR???
The exact injury has not be confirmed yet, but Twitter buzz is that he could have a plantar tear...which is both painful and difficult to get to heal with 5 weeks in a walking boot or even worse, surgery.  Either possible outcome to that kind of injury could land Garcon on IR for the year.  Given that his contract has us completely stuck with him, it may be best for our investment to get this thing taken care of so we can have this guy on the field next year.  On the field, healthy, he is one of the best....and we need weapons like that around our RG3.
UPDATE:  Looks like Garcon does have a Plantar Plate Tear...which is about as bad as expected or maybe a little worse...looks like at least 6 weeks rest...IR is still a large possibility.  If we are in important games in December, we will need this guy...and I not mention the "P" word, but we would need him there too.

Watch for updates!  Follow me on Twitter @RCRedskins for the latest.
