Redskins vs Steelers - Fan Preview

Warning:  If you are a Steelers fan, or perhaps any fan other than Redskins fan, well, you may want to read a different blog or post, or be prepared to hear the how Redskins fans feel about this coming game against the Steelers this Sunday.

There are not many rivalries that cross division lines, but the Redskins and Steelers have had many memorable games.  This Sunday aims to be just one of those type of games.  The close proximity of both teams often leads to fans clashing.  The Steelers have some dedicated fans and a BOAT LOAD of "band-wagon" fans adopted in recent years...unlike the Redskins who have long-tenured, lifetime fans just enjoying the bright future ahead of us.  The Twitter feed has been full of Steelers fans calling for the head of RG3...well if they want it, they better run a 4.25 40 or forget about it jack.

The Redskins are reeling for a heart-breaking loss against the Giants and hope to take their frustrations out on an aging and non-explosive beat-up Steelers team.  I see this game as a HUGE statement game for the Redskins.  Though there are many questions regarding the health and play of our defense in Washington, the Steelers have a host of injuries, lack of established running game, lack of depth at WR, and an aging defense that has me thinking, WE WILL WIN THIS.  Here is how the Redskins will do it:

Establishing a STRONG running game!  Our O-line has played very well.  Behind this group, that has been together and healthy all year, I see Alfred Morris putting on another show.

Using the "Option" carefully!  We have to protect RG3, at the same time we have to let this guy play.  He will play smart.  I expect to see a fair dose of the option to keep the Steelers D off-balance, which should assist the passing game as well.

Protecting the ball!  If we had 1 less turnover last week, we would have won.  This week, I see us protecting the "baby" and playing smart football.  Let's get back to basics and let God-given talent decide this game, instead of carelessness.

Defending the deep ball!  Though it has been the "Achilles heal" this year, I see our defense protecting over the top on big plays...and who knows, maybe big, sloppy Ben will toss up some picks in the process of trying to exploit that.

Win the Turnover Battle!  Besides not giving up turnovers, we need to create some turnovers too.  Our defense seems to have a knack for that this year, and continuing that trend will help lead us to victory.

What to Watch!
Who will step up at TE?
If 59 doesn't play, who do they fill that hole?
How does that secondary hold up?  Cedric Griffin should be back, lots of ??? still.
CAN WE GET SOME SACKS PLEASE!!!

It all goes well, I see it playing out...
Redskins Win!  35-21

Smack Talking Time!!!
Big Ben is fat, slow, and gimpy.  Wreck a motorcycle or something.
AARP called, ready to sign up that Steeler Defense.
Troy Panumalawalmanuannama...retire.
Doesn't Ryan Clark have sickle-cell or something?
Wallace feeling bad Ju Ju...and deserves just that for being a poor team-player and holding out.
Who the hell is even running the ball for them, Redman?  Who?

...and I tell ya another thing about those Steelers, they STINK!

Hail to the Redskins!
