Fred Davis is back! #Redskins now focusing on Ex-Vikings CB Winfield.

So it looks like Fred Davis is back home, after all.  At first, it seemed impossible, but this proves several things....

1.  There are many capable TE's in FA and the Draft.
2.  The TE position is under-appreciated by many organizations.
3.  Big, long contracts for TE's are very unlikely when health and conduct are in question even remotely.

Of course, Fred found himself out there, lingering health questions with several other cheaper and capable names out there...sprinkle in a few good draft picks and the market was drying up.  When left between the decision of Buffalo or Washington....I mean, really, there is little thought needed.  The Twitter feed was crazy with jokes....we all knew then he was ours.  For him, a decent 1 year deal gives him every chance to go out this season, turn heads, and next year, rake in the dough.

With that whole behind them, the Washington Brass can now set it's sights on a CB....Antoine Winfield.  Look, he is a tad of a "band-aide"...by that, I mean, he is a 1 to 2 year fix.  He can play, tackle, and create turnovers though...and his play has not declined just yet.  In recent years, he has played very well versus the Redskins....and many other teams too.  His age, really, is the only reason we are even in the running, or there would be hoards of other interest.  Problem is, he refused a pay-cut for a team he has dedicated a ton of hard work into...why would he take that same cut with us?  I would like to think it is to win a Superbowl, which the Vikings could not be much further from.  At a recent dinner with Winfield, the Redskins were pulling out all the stops to convince him to play here, even whipping out RGIII to reel him in.  Winfield is expected to make his decision before the draft...but I think him and Josh Wilson make a quite admirable pair of CB...combine that with some solid Nickle CB play, improved pass-rush, and a re-energized SS/FS rotation and that top 10 defense will be right back in form.

Hail to the Redskins!
