...in parallel reality...
September 5th, 2013....Shanahan Press Conference..."Robert is just not ready yet. He is throwing, running, and getting snaps with the first-team offense, but both from the Dr. Andrews and the our Front Office are just not comfortable with him seeing contact just yet, so we decided to keep 4 quarterbacks and Kirk will get the start versus the Eagles."
Robert takes the podium...
Reporter asks, "Are you upset with the Coach's decision?"
Robert..."I am a player...I expect to play. At the same time, though, I respect my coaches and their experience winning in this league. I want our team to win. Of course, I am disappointed, but I will just keep working until I get the nod."
September 6th, 2013....Kirk Cousins talks to the media after practice..."Of course I am excited to get the start and will do my best to get our first home win Monday night...but remember, when he is cleared, this is Robert's team."
Monday, September 9th, 2013, Post Game Presser...Shanahan takes the podium. He is asked, "How did you feel about Kirk's play tonight?" Shanahan, "I was happy with his play. I expected more out of our offense in the first half. The tempo in the first half was really hard to manage, but I think if we could have established drives in the first half we could have stayed closer. The turnovers didn't help. I was proud to Kirk and the team responded in the second half. Kirk showed good poise. It was a hard fought win."
To be continued...
