Really, Riley?

I hate to waste my breath on the ShmEagles, but here we go...

Riley Cooper finding reason to drop the N-word harshly at a Kenny Chesney concert, of all places, has been one of the most popular topics since training camp has started, which kind of makes me sick.  Not to mention, I just hate the Eagles so much, too.  What he did was beyond dumb on so many levels, but, because it was caught on video.  Riley Cooper will pay the price for the words he chose...over, and over...and may not play football in the NFL again.  We do not know the context of his words, but that does not matter so much...being part of a video like that has no excuse worth using.

If I thought there was a way to root out all racism my holding this one guy accountable, I would gladly sacrifice the guy (besides he is an Eagle) but, honestly, most of us know better.  I think the guy is beyond sorry, but still, the NFL and the Eagles should cut him and move on.  The fact that America, and the world for that matter, responded in anger at this guy says a lot about the world we live in and how it is changing for the better in many ways.  His actions would have not been even news worthy 20 years ago, much less spark outrage.  I say let Riley Cooper pay for his actions...the NFL, media, players, and fans should move on knowing that people who say things like that will have to pay for the words they choose, no reason to keep rehashing the story.
