Redskins Weekly - Preseason #1 - 2013

Training camp is underway.  Before the action could even get on the field, the Redskins has it's first casualties...
  • Jordan Bernstein and Devin Holland were cut. Bernstein is still recovering from a nasty knee injury from last season.  In walk DB's Jose Gumbs and Ryan Mouton.
  • Adam Carraker had another surgery, putting him out another couple months.  On his radio show, though, he was emphatic that it had to happen and that he will play this year.
  • Jarvis Jenkins was suspended for the first 4 games by the NFL for PED's, leaving the team light DE.  DT Chris Baker is getting some reps at DE, so there may not be any roster moves, at least, for now.  LB Rob Jackson is also suspended the first 4 games of the season for PED's.
  • Having a good camp so far:  Garcon (WR), Moss (WR), Hankerson (WR), Crawford (CB), Kai Forbath (K), and Jamison (rookie RB).  Right now there is little contact and pads, so of course, only a few guys are standing out...but many are all ones we need to stand out.
  • Having a poor camp:  So, I think it is a bit unfair to throw anyone under the bus just yet...it is just too early, but all the talk is that Cousins has not seemed to have grown much...which is a situation worth watching.  My guess is he will be just fine.
  • Redskins now have 11 suspensions for PED's in 2 seasons...tied for worse in the league.
  • The new facility is fantastic for the fans and players.
  • DeAngelo Hall rolled his ankle at practice...getting an X-ray.  This situation should be monitored.

Hail to the Redskins!
