The Redskins ended the regular season on quite a high note, winning in honorable fashion over the Cowboys and destroying the Cowboys post-season dreams. Most would agree that the turn-around we witnessed from the Redskins this season was nothing short of amazing. Now, as a new year and second phase to the season approaches, the Redskins must continue the hard work and dedication they have endured as they face the Seahawks in their first stop in the playoffs. The Redskins have not had a home playoff game in over a decade.
Looking back to the draft, fans were eager to see winning. Most of the fans and bloggers I communicate with all seemed quite patient back then...as most of us had no realistic hopes of a playoff caliber squad, based on the 2011-2012 season results. When "the trade" happened, and fans began to realize coaches and team management saw the chance to win sooner, rather than later...more people perked up...fans responded with profound support to a rookie-lead offense and a revamped team. The season started as many expected...so growing pains...with the highlight being the play of RG3 and the emergence of a starting workhouse tailback in Alfred "Mr. Plow" Morris (what some of my tweeps have been calling him). Now, there are less questions about our defense than weeks past....hell, we even have a kicker (who got his first pesky miss out of the way before the playoffs - of course, intentionally). Slowly, but surely, as the season progress and as wins began to pile up, not just fans but the world learned the Redskins can compete. By breaking new ground in offensive and defensive scheming and play-calling, not to mention quite a cast of role players, rookies, and seasoned vets, the Redskins now look forward to a real chance at glory. Now, I am not making any predictions, as it would be bad Ju Ju...but I will say, our path lay in front of us...the stage is set....if this team stays focused and determined, they will make every fan proud we were lived to see such a memorable time in Redskins franchise history.
Hail to the Redskins!
