After a rocky start, that still showed tons of promise, the Redskins have rebounded and pushed for the NFC title...and it all comes down to Sunday night versus the Cowboys. As it stands now, after what seemed ages since true talent-charged hope, Redskins fans have had the luxury of experiencing the emergence of a healthy offensive line, a late-round gem work-horse running back, a revamped and lethal receiving corp, a consistent veteran-lead defense, a group of top-notch role-players, and last, but certainly not least, a unique and extraordinarily talented leader and QB. Frankly, only a few things could make this season better....win the NFC east by beating the living day-lights out of arch-nemesis Dallas Cowboys and continue that winning streak through the playoffs.
Fans are excited, and rightfully so. I know I join hosts of other fans that have been more excited about this game then Christmas (sorry Santa).
For me, this streak has meant so much. Doctors found a large stage three astrocytoma in the front right lobe of my wife's brain about a month back...deadly brain cancer...followed by brain surgery, infection, and coming soon radiation and chemotherapy. Since then, the only thing that has really cheered me up and showed me to trust in hope is the success of my Washington Redskins. This Redskins team has fought so hard, through true near impossible tasks and mountains of hard work with long hours....pain, sweat, tears, cheers, boos, controversy, injury...these guys are soldiers, and Sunday, they go into battle with only one thing in mind...winning. Hope is hard to find in dark times...and though my direct family is dealing with adversity and a dreadful diagnosis, my Redskins have shown me that if you fight...and, I mean, you fight until you have nothing left and then you fight more...push harder and harder....you win...you can beat anything.
Hail to the Redskins!
