Redskins Destroy Eagles

In the first game of a series of "MUST WIN" games for the Redskins, the Skins come out and destroyed the Eagles 31-6.  RGIII showed poise, accuracy, and the great decision making of a pocket QB while still showcasing some of the fastest legs in the game.  In the air, he went 14 for 15, w/ 200yds and 4 TD's...on the ground, he rushed 11 times for 85yds.  We made two successful long passes, proving what most fans knew...the Redskins CAN go down-field through the air, though one was only because Santana Moss made an INCREDIBLE catch in double coverage on an already flagged play.  Even though the passing stats were incredible, great offensive play has almost come to be expected.  The big surprise was the defense...and more, the play-calling and schemes, featuring the debut of Brandon Meriweather and some much improved blitz schemes.  Mark your calenders, because Haz may have just figured out some things...to put it in poker terms, perhaps he has finally showed a little of his hand with the rest of the world.  We saw, for the fist time, the Redskins establish a successful pass rush, moving the blitz around and staying unpredictable.  Defensive stat wise, I credit the entire defense for the success we witnessed yesterday...so, here are the team stats that we will ALL love to see - 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions...with stats like that, and an offense able to score, you can win a lot of games.  Granted, those stats were against a mediocre Eagles offense, depleted by injury...it is a start for the Redskins.  They will need Uncle Mo' on their side heading into Dallas, who has just a little Mo' of their own.

I was lucky enough to attend the game, and I can tell you, the chant's for "WE WANT DALLAS" brought even more meaning and more emotion than ever...the hairs on my neck tingled as I joined in the chanting!

Something just seems special about this team...and that feeling should be around for years to come.

Hail to the Redskins!
