Reflections of Pre-Season Game 1 VS Titans

With many starters out, especially on offense, it was still tough to get a solid read on how our full power offense will play, but, if our 2nd team (with some starters) is any indication, we have some good football ahead of us.

Now, I do not want to get carried away...this was the Titans in Pre-Season, but here are a few highlights of the specifics I noticed during the game:

  • The Starting O-Line (minus Trent Williams) was solid, especially against the run.  They moved well and created lanes...job well done.
  • Roy Helu still has it.
  • Kirk Cousins was calm and comfortable in the offense, reading progressions well.
  • Morgan and Moss are ready.  Hankerson still showing flashes of what COULD be.
  • The first team defense (yes, including Rambo) was pretty good except for the two big runs.
  • Rambo was torn apart on Twitter for two bad plays, but they were just about the only ones.
  • Amerson is going to be good and will contribute right away.
  • Sav Rocca was not having a good night.
  • The second and third team O-Line guys also did pretty well, especially in the running game.
  • Merling played well enough at DE.
  • Several reserve LB had a good game.
  • Special Teams still needs a replacement for Alexander, but Kehl was noticable, but only on ST.
  • No return guy yet but Skye Dawson could be the dark horse.
  • Rex is, well, still Rex...but Pat White looks pretty decent, though against 3rd stringers.
  • No rookie RBs...WAH!
  • I pulled a hammy on that game-winning 2 pt conversion (at home excessive celebration).
