Here are a few observations of the game:
- Good Rex, Bad Rex? Well, he is both...almost every game. Just how it is.
- Pat White showed skill, but did make some mistakes and still has some work to do. I want to see more of him in the Pistol.
- Roy Helu is showing 1st class skills.
- This is the one team in the NFL who could have two healthy, dominate RB's to start the season, who both will see action.
- Keiland Williams looked solid too, but not sure if he is being showcased for a possible pick or if he could actually beat out both rookies.
- Rookie RB Thompson has some skill, at HB and in the return game, but needs to secure the ball better.
- Is rookie RB Jamison not even worth preseason carries?
- Santana Moss can still move those chains.
- The roster battle for that 5th and possible 6th WR spot is on fire. Robinson, Lewis, Dawson, Briscoe...your guess is as good as mine.
- Could we really keep 4 TEs? Right now, I can't see being able to cut Paul, Paulson is our best blocker, Davis has that injury worry, and Reed is making plays.
- The majority of the D-Line guys played solid...Mike Jones of the Washington Post used the word "poise".
- Would have loved to see more sacks from the 1st team LBs, but the reserve LBs played very well.
- I hated to see Crawford lost for the year, but at least we know that Minnefield has a legit spot for the 53 and I love this kid...just has to stay healthy.
- Rambo has a solid game.
- Pugh made some plays, as did Gomes...both seem better against the run.
- Jose Gumbs...who? Yep, this guy has a shot and is playing well...you never know.
- Still no defined return guys.
- Kai Forbath is our kicker, nailing a 53 yard FG. Sorry Potter, it is Kobra Kai time.
- I sure hope Sav Rocca is holding back.
- Nick Sundenburg made a hell of a play on ST, making a possible TD saving tackle.
Cut's to the 75 man roster start Monday, deadline is 4pm Tuesday (August 27th). This years cut down will be viscous. They have all worked so hard.
